Multilevel Distance Labelings for Paths and Cycles

چکیده
For a graph G, let diam(G) denote the diameter of G. For any two vertices u and v in G, let d(u, v) denote the distance between u and v. A multi-level distance labeling (or distance labeling) for G is a function f that assigns to each vertex of G a non-negative integer such that for any vertices u and v, |f(u)− f(v)| ≥ diam(G) − dG(u, v) + 1. The span of f is the largest number in f(V ). The radio number of G, denoted by rn(G), is the minimum span of a distance labeling for G. In this paper, we completely determine the radio numbers for paths and cycles. Supported in part by the National Science Foundation under grant DMS 9805945. The problem of radio channel assignments with multiple levels of interference depending on distance can be modeled using graph theory. The authors previously introduced a model of labeling by real numbers. متن کاملVertex Magic Total Labelings of Graphs
A vertex magic total labeling of a graph with v vertices and e edges is de ned as a one to one map taking the vertices and edges onto the integers v e with the property that the sum of the label on a vertex and the labels on its incident edges is a constant independent of the choice of vertex Properties of these labelings are studied It is shown how to construct labelings for several families o...

Graceful labelings use a prominent place among difference vertex labelings. In this work we present new families of graceful graphs all of them obtained applying a general substitution result. This substitution is applied here to replace some paths with some trees with a more complex structures. Two caterpillars with the same size are said to be textit{analogous} if thelarger stable sets, in bo...
